It is always a delight to be invited to any of this society`s shows. Everyone is made so welcome. This panto proved to be just as funny as we have come to expect. Comedy and jokes fell to mainly three characters. They included Adam Manning and Stuart McCaig who were fantastic as Mustapha Pea and Mustapha Dribble and Ian Dean-Boardman who played a wonderfully dressed Barbara Baba with a super singing voice and great rapport with the audience.
The chorus were extremely well rehearsed and performed a number of super numbers. They joined with the camel. `Carmel` whose `inners` were brilliantly played by Rohan Macleod and Adam Walsh, who with the chorus gave a wonderful `River Dance` So funny!!!
All other principals were well cast. Eddie Done was a super Ali Baba having to put up with his wife Barbara Baba especially when they found the cave with the treasure. Their family, Rhum Baban (David Crank) and Eyeneeda Baba (Suzanne Smith) played the rich relatives with their slave Aiesha (Megan Pimbley). She is in love with Hassan Baba beautifully played by Jess Barnett. The singing was outstanding. Maxine Crook was a very beautiful and evil Rabia Rasheed. Three more characters made up more of the lead roles. Colin Dean was The Grand Vizier, Emma Cunningham played Passim Medina and Beth Allcock played The Spirit of the Sand.
My congratulations to everyone who gave us such a great show. Thank you once again for your kind invitation.
