Review Treasure Island by SSSJ ADS 21st February 2018

Firstly can I say a big thank you for making me feel so welcome and the refreshments provided.

Treasure Island - a family pantomime - had such a fantastic community spirit about it, with a cast age range from 3 upwards. Stella Crank assisted by Stuart McCaig definitely brought out the feel good factor and the audience loved it!

At the start the cast appeared a little nervous and unsure but the arrival of Long John Silver through the audience sporting a Jonny Depp look, ably played by Stuart McCraig brought  a much needed energy to the show and the cast picked up on his energy. I am still laughing at his “Without me” (Eminem) take off - very funny and great to involve the chorus! Also Spot the Dog played by Suzanne Smith was hilarious.

Another number which had the audience in stitches was “If I Were Not Aboard This Ship” - very funny and the timing by the cast was perfect.

The cast also coped well with the sound issues, which I am sure were first night nerves,  proving this group work well together .

With the vast ages ranges on stage I think the choreography was well placed ensuring no one was left out and it all flowed.

The set helped weave the story very well and again first night issues of gaps will hopefully be ironed out as the show goes on.

Congratulations to cast and crew on this production
